Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)

PAT Testing Across Ormskirk, Burscough, Lancashire, Wigan & All Surrounding Areas

Keeping Your Business Moving with PAT

Portable Appliance Testing is an essential service that every business must carry out in order to demonstrate that a working environment is safe. The relevant requirement of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 is that equipment shall be maintained so as to prevent danger.

Shevington Electrical Services Ltd provide first rate PAT testing for businesses across Ormskirk, Burscough, Lancashire, Shevington, Wigan and Liverpool. Most businesses carry out such checks every year.

The inspection consists of:

  • an Earth continuity test (class 1 appliances only),
  • an insulation resistance test,
  • touch current leakage test,
  • a functional test
  • and a polarity check.

Once these have been successfully carried out on equipment that is in use across your business, then you will know that your appliances are safe.
